| The proper care and maintenance of your headers is important for maintaining a long lasting shine you will be proud of for years to come. For most maintenance, going over the part with a micro fiber or terry cloth using California Customs Purple Metal Polish is all that is required. If you ever have any oil burned on or surface deposits from water, or other liquids, more aggressive measures will need to be taken. We have found that wet sanding the stained area with 1500 wet sand paper is all that is needed to remove and then polish as you would when cleaning your headers. A fine compound can be used to remove surface contamination with a buffer also, with care being taken to only go as far as is needed to clean the part. The coating is very durable, but it can be sanded through if care is not used and a lot of sanding is done.
